Personally, I hate it when Social D plays Cash or the Stones live, because I came to see Social Distortion and hear THEIR music...so, if I were you, I'd request a song from the list that Mike himself wrote.

Enjoy it for what it is... a personal experience w/ Mike.

I wouldn't worry much about anything. Just have FUN. If you wanted to say something to Mike about how his music touched you, go for it. Sing...do it! Never met him, but Mike seems to be a down-to-earth and a funny guy.

As for my question, it would be geared toward the songwriting process or some form of musicianship as that's my interest. Yeah, maybe not for everyone. If something like that interests you, but something more general you'd find more comfortable asking, why not ask...were there any influences on some of the new material he's written for the upcoming album, etc.?

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">Okay for all of you who have been dying to know(if any), here's what happened....First of all I was told to meet up at the trading post at 3:45 which is outside the venue, well I was already in at 3:00 because I got there at 7am so I could be in the front row. Then the guys at the gate said if I go out I can't come back in, I about lost it! I said "NO, you can't do this to me!!" I was about in tears. My friend who was guarding the entrance to the backstage area told me to just stay here becuase this is where they'd bring you in at anyway. And then I see Jonny and shout out at him "Hey I'm here". Well to make a long story short, Mike and Jonny played Ring of Fire for us, I did stupidly ask if we could record it, but got a NO. It was very cool. And in a way I DID bring you all in with me because I printed out this entire topic for him to read, because it was my way of telling him how I felt. And you know I have to believe he did read it because of the way he looked at me at the end of the concert. Hopefully he got a good laugh from the silly parts. Then I asked if he would please record and release I can't run no more, He said he needed to finish writing it. But it was just the 4 of us in this little, red carpeted, leather couched, semi dark room, Oh, and the really awesome rebel waltz dude, whose name I can't remember, who took a picture of us, that I will someday post when I figure it out.

I just can't thank mrsweezer enough for everything she did for me and my Son, getting us right up front, and getting Mike to sign my Son's hat. He (I should say we) had a great time....

Ok, I admit it was me who brought that up.

I was working at a print shop back in 1996 on the night shift and my co-worker was LP from Foxy. One night we were talking about music and I told her that Social D was one of my favorite bands and she said "you know Mike Ness can suck his own dick dont you?". I didnt know whether to belive her or not but I remember thinking that was very impressive to be able to do that. I would never leave the house if I could.

I agree if you asked him a few questions. "hey mike, what is your favorite new band", "hey mike, when is the new record coming out", "hey mike, i heard you can perform fellatio on yourself".

That would be just way too funny. get that on video and that would be funnier to watch than Glen Danzig getting knocked out.

Here we are in all our glory. No more being invisible for me. The framed picture is hanging on my wall. One of the girls next to us gave my daughter the rose. I almost didn't get Jonny's autograph, the meet and greet was like Wham bam thank you m'am and when I got back to my seat I was saying "we didn't get Jonny to sign, He's gonna think we just blew him off" So the persistant ***** that I am went back and forth til the cool rebel waltz guy took my paper back to him.
